About
It's a common theme that people who work with dogs get started in this industry due to issues with one of their dogs, and that was certainly the case for me. My dog Ogi came into my life years ago and at that time I didn't know anything about dog behavior or psychology. When we introduced him into the house, with two other dogs, we did everything wrong. We didn't have a plan, we just thought we could wing it and it would be fine. Well it wasn't fine and it led to a 4-week board and train. While the board and train improved the situation, it was more of an obedience program and it didn't address the underlying behavioral issue. It didn't address his state of mind and teach him how to develop different filters to the issues that triggered him. With that, my goal was to learn more about dog behavior and tackle the triggers from a different perspective.

I mention this background because many people are faced with similar issues and I have been there and understand the plight. I had a serious issue on my hands that had to be addressed. Through that process I learned a lot about dogs, but I had so much more to learn.

Working with dogs became my focus and I decided to pursue "training" full-time. I left my career in corporate finance with the goal to become a trainer and help families with dogs issues, like Ogi, stay in their home. I gained a lot of hands on experience running the daily operations of a dog training & boarding facility, along with being the lead trainer, which allowed me to work with awesome dogs and families. I attended several programs to educate myself on dog behavior but I found they were not truly addressing the root issue of what was causing the behavior or their approach was not the path I wanted to go down.

In 2022 I attended a seminar on the Pressure Matrix, a deeper view into dog psychology taught by Linn Boyke. I quickly learned it was a different and more effective approach to engaging with dogs. After that seminar, I wanted to learn more and attended the "Awareness - A Point of View Beyond the Dog" Program that is geared to teaching dog professionals and dog owners about the lowest, most granular level of what makes a dog tick...pressure. Going down this path has changed the way I work with dogs, it is not about obedience, it is not about correcting a dog for doing what they are not allowed to do. It is about teaching. Teaching the owner how to communicate with the dog, teaching the dog what you want and about how to behave in areas that trigger them to develop more positive filters.

My goal is to help you achieve the best possible lifestyle with your dog, not through obedience, rather through communication and cooperation.

This is Ogi, the guy who started it all!
